George & Kin's | Our Story

What the name carries
Naming this place after them wasn't just a tribute — it was a promise. Everyone who walks through our door deserves the same sense of belonging George and Kinuko gave us.
My Auntie Kinnie and Uncle George were married in 1941 and had three children, Richard, Kathy, David. They also helped raise my mom, Wendy. Together George and Kin farmed for over 50 years raising sugar beets, potatoes, cattle and corn. People came from miles away to buy their corn and many of their customers became their friends. People in Pocatello still talk about "Sato Corn".

A bridge between two worlds
Benny's Japanese heritage and East Coast upbringing both live in this restaurant — in the warmth of the counter and the care behind every plate.
Our Heritage
When my mom was a young child, uncle George and aunt Kinuko took her in and raised her on their farm in Pocatello, Idaho. They gave her a home, and in doing so, they became family — the closest thing me and and my sisters ever had to grandparents. *Mom on the left *G + K on the center

With gratitude
None of this exists without Ali, my parents, Charles, Chef Itamar, Chef Nate, Chef Wes, and cousins Kathy and Richard — and the community of Napa that has made us feel so welcome. Thank you for being part of this story.
